Country drop leaf table from northern Sweden. The table is a typical country home furniture piece from Sweden and is made around the 1850's. The white paint is original and has become distressed from use over time. Untouched original condition with natural wear and an authentic patina. Joints are post and lintel and/or made with wooden pins. The table top is made from very wide slabs of wood that are no longer available in the modern lumber market. This Swedish Gate Leg Table folds down, to become a narrow space saving console table, but then extends to a good size dining table. This is truly a one-of-a-kind piece.
