The April Edit

Spring is officially here, and with the blooms in all their glory, refreshing my favorite spaces both inside and out at home has been a welcome focus this week. Now that I’m back from my Scotland trip and embracing this new season, I thought I’d share what I’m loving for a coffee table refresh, essentials for time outdoors, and easy additions to start your spring wardrobe…

My coffee table holds books and items that are a source of inspiration and I frequently change and freshen this area in my home to reflect the season or what I’m currently interested in. The balloon vase is my go-to for foliage and flowers, and for spring I’ve loaded it up with long blossom branches. For a new fragrance, Trudon has just launched the Versailles candle with notes of peony, thyme blossom, tuberose and blue iris. The brass candle base is an elegant accessory for any candle, whether in a glass or a plain pillar, and the rose botanical design matches are a pretty and functional essential. Pair with the elegant ceramic match striker to hold the matches. The newest inspirational books that I’m loving are Icons, with over 150 celebrities captured by photographer, Oscar Abolafia. Published to celebrate 75 years of the world’s greatest couture house, Dior, New Looks covers Christian Dior’s classics through the generations and designers who have taken the design mantle from the original master. This book is a gem! Another goodie, Dogs captured by Tim Flach is a tribute to dogs of all shapes and sizes and why they truly are a man’s best friend. Crystals attract the light and a coffee table is a great place to show all sides to them. This Himalayan quartz is one of my current favorites.

With the flurry of activity outside with the new blooms, flowers, smells and longer days, I’m starting to think of picnics and lounging under the sun. For an all-in-one picnic hamper that’s sleek and stylish, we've found the perfect one! It’s durable with handles and includes cutlery, cups, plates, bottle opener and even a cutting board. You just have to add your drinks and food. A cozy place to lay outside is essential and I love the bedrolls I designed with Tensira. This Greenwich stripe comes with a removable cover for easy cleaning and is filled with a cushy cotton filler. Add this Moroccan blanket to beat the chill and this cushion to lay your head on and stargaze. For a little light as the sun goes down, our bestselling cordless lights are perfect and easy to pack. If your picnic takes you to where the wildflowers are, pack our flower press book and pruning shears so you can press your clippings and savor the gifts spring has to offer. And don’t forget a sun hat and sunglasses.

I feel like whether I’ve been in NY, Santa Barbara or Europe, it’s been a long, wet winter season and I’m ready to change out the clothes I’ve had on rotation for brighter and lighter layers. Nothing says spring like yellow and the Imogen jumper is my new favorite for everyday. Wear with the Leah cargo pants and the Alex sneakers. For a great layering cardigan, the surfer in a beautiful coral red is a stunning forever wardrobe piece. For those in-between days when wind or showers are on the horizon, the cap sleeve jacket is a great layer in a flattering rose pink. For celebrations, this feminine and versatile dress can take you from a garden party to a wedding. Add these stunning 14k pebble earrings made with moss agate by one of my favorite new jewelry designers, By Pariah. For a simple and functional everyday tote for runs to the market, gym or lunch, I’m loving the panier raffia tote. And I’m sure you’ve seen that Mary Jane flats are on our essentials list here at DIANI, and these sweet tan suede beauties are flying out the door. Or for a true ballet flat, these Luna slippers are a great option.

I love creating these edits and hope they're helpful tools for seeing a snapshot of some of my favorites for the month or season. I'm writing from our farm in NY and each day there is more and more blossoming in the garden, the grass is getting greener and the wildlife is emerging from hibernation. I couldn't love this time of year more and welcoming it in with changes in my wardrobe and around the house is a fun part of the transition. Wherever this finds you, I hope you are enjoying this time too.

Sending lots of love,
