African American Rulers

African American Rulers are women and men who contributed to American culture, with a heavy emphasis on the Abolitionist Movement of the mid 19^th century and the Civil Rights Movement of the 1950’s and 60’s. The image at the top of the ruler is Frederick Douglass (1817-1895), social reformer, abolitionist, orator, writer, and statesman.
