The October Edit With Caroline

We’ve reached peak fall: the weather has a cool, crispness, boots are back in rotation and I’m lighting candles around my home. This season tends to feel fleeting, so everything I love about fall I’ve brought to the DIANI stores for you to enjoy too – from camel-colored wardrobe staples and all the fall boot styles, to seasonal bestsellers for your home. So for the October Edit, I’m rounding up my fall picks for your wardrobe and home...

From coats and handbags, to sweaters and boots, camel is a fall color that's versatile, chic and comes in many different shades. I’m currently loving the Teddy Car Coat from Smythe, with its classic car coat fit that's perfect for layering. Our bestselling Duchess Blazer has a tailored silhouette in that flattering camel hue, and is suitable for wearing from the office to dinner out.

My fall wardrobe isn’t complete without a camel colored sweater. The Oversized V-Neck Pullover from Treat is made from the softest multi blend with a deep v-neck. For a timeless camel cardigan, the Maio Cashmere Cardigan is super cozy that wears well paired with leggings or skinny jeans and ballet flats.

The Flavie Pants are a sleek wool suiting pant with a loose, fluid leg and double front pleats that are great for all body types. The camel color offers a fresh take on a tailored pant that we all know and love in black. For an everyday shoulder bag in that classic fall hue, the Vigo Suede Baguette Bag from Isabel Marant Étoile is all style and ease.

For footwear, I’m loving the Isla Booties from Loeffler Randall. The heel adds just the right amount of height without sacrificing comfort. The go-with-everything sneakers, the V-10 B-Chromefree Sneaker from Veja will add a sporty touch to your outfit. And to keep your feet cozy, the Love Cashmere Crew Socks from Hansel From Basel are made from Italian recycled cashmere and have been on our bestseller list for over a year.

Boots are fall wardrobe essentials, and with countless styles to choose from, the hardest part is picking the perfect pair or few. From ankle to thigh-high, suede to leather, there is a boot for every occasion and preference. The Dicker Boots from Isabel Marant Étoile are an ankle bootie with a western-inspired flair that wears well with jeans and dresses. Alternatively, the Duerto Boots from Isabel Marant Étoile are also western-inspired and hit above the ankle.

For a dressier ankle boot (that’s also great for the holidays), the Deone Boots from Isabel Marant Étoile are a rich suede with a kitten heel – perfect to wear with dresses, skirts and pants. Designed for everyday wear, the 40mm Suede Ankle Boots from Vanessa Bruno have an ankle silhouette with a low heel. Slightly more elevated are the River Engineer Booties from Loeffler Randall. With studded straps and a moto style, these boots can be dressed up or down.

The classic Chelsea gets an upgrade with the Alberone Chelsea Boots from Diemme. Made in Italy and lined with calf leather, these boots have a wedged sole for an edgier look. The Campa Boots from Isabel Marant Étoile have a combat style with front lace-up closure and a treaded rubber sole.

A classic riding boot never goes out of style, and I’m currently loving the 45mm Leather Boots from Vanessa Bruno, which are made from vegetable-tanned leather. Alternatively, the Seenia Boots from Isabel Marant Étoile are made in Portugal from a beautiful cognac leather.

Creating a cozy ambiance in my home is a favorite way to welcome colder weather, and one of the first things that's easy to do is light a  scented candle. The beautiful candles from Trudon are elegant and smell heavenly, like the Cyrnos Classic Candle which features mediterranean aromas of citrus, fig, pine, lavender. For the dining table, I’ve been using these Rope Candles for years and they are still my favorite, and hand poured from pure North American beeswax. And if you're looking for a seasonal scent to bring into your home, the Pumpkin Harvest Candle is a hit every year.

I also love adding soft, warm textures and we just received beautiful new felted wool rugs from the Living Rug Company which are highly coveted at DIANI. The Gwyn Rug is 100% cruelty free and vegetarian felted, using just the sheep’s wool. I can't say enough about how wonderful these rugs are for the floor, on a chair, a bench, in front of the fireplace... they're the best.

I’ve been using linen bedding from Cultiver for a few years now and I love it. Linen fabric naturally regulates body temperature, so the sheets and pillowcases can be used year round.

When cool weather comes calling, I layer up on extra cushions and throws. For added seasonal color, this DIANI X Tensira Cushion in safari stripe is a favorite that I designed for our collaboration. The fabric is hand-dyed and made with traditional looms using 100% organic cotton. For extra storage space, I use this handwoven reed basket for cushions and throws. It's made using Totora Reed, which grows along the coast and in the high plateaus in Peru. It also makes a great log basket.

Adding seasonal napkins to a table setting is a wonderful way to usher in the fall season. I recently launched my Stone Jug Linen Napkins in a new pumpkin hue, and have loved putting them to good use. I continue to bring fresh greenery and flowers into my home, even in the fall and winter months. This Balloon Vase in smoke is made from mouth blown glass and created in Copenhagen by Louise Roe.

From sweaters and boots, to candles and rugs, the DIANI stores are filled with all things fall. This is one of my favorite times of the year, so I'm enjoying every moment – from getting dressed, to decorating my home. I hope my curated collection of fall favorites inspires you this season.

Sending lots of love,
