What I’m Packing For The Beach

Is there anything better than those slow, sun-drenched days of summer? I’m currently taking any chance I can get to soak in some vitamin D. Sometimes that means checking emails in the backyard and other times its an impromptu day at the beach. When the salty air is calling, I like to have all my essentials on hand and ready to go, from a chic beach bag and coverup to skincare musts and an inspirational read.

This Double Wall Tea Tumbler is a must for warm beach days. It includes a stainless steel tea strainer that attaches to the lid for ice tea in the summer or hot tea in the winter. Plus it keeps beverages cold for at least three hours! There is something about the salty air, cool breeze and crashing waves that gives me major wanderlust. I like to flip through the book Travel Anywhere to keep the inspiration flowing.

This lightweight Laos Pool Duster from Mirth is the perfect beach accessory. Crafted from a blend of cotton and silk, it feels dreamy draped over a swimsuit and the tie at the waist is perfect when you need to cover up. I don’t venture to the beach without the Tulum Straw Fedora from Lovely Bird. It provides just enough sun protection and the lightweight fabrication easily fits into a beach bag.

The salty air and sun rays can be tough on the skin, so I like to pack a few skincare favorites to keep me feeling fresh, hydrated and protected. I like to have Ursa Major’s Hoppin’ Fresh Deodorant on hand at all times – it’s a must for hot summer days, especially as a midday refresher.

When it comes to sun protection, I reach for MD Solar Science’s Mineral Creme SPF 50 for body and Suntegrity’s Natural Moisturizing Tinted Sunscreen for face. Both have super clean ingredients and are available in-store and online at neighboring beauty boutique, Treat.

The Conscious Coconut Oil and May Lindstrom’s Jasmine Garden are the perfect pick me ups if I’m going straight from the beach to dinner out. The coconut oil is super soothing for after sun care and the facial mist instantly calms and restores, plus the smell is intoxicating.

When it comes to a beach sandal, I prefer a chic slide that can easily pop on or off. The Thais Links from Ancient Greek Sandals is a fun twist on their classic shape and I love the hint of metallic. Added bonus: these can easily take me from a day at the beach to drinks and dinner out.

Whether you’re hitting your local shores or venturing to an exotic coastline, a designated beach bag is essential. My favorite is the Marlena Pieced Tote from Loeffler Randall. This on-trend style features a clear and smooth leather stripe with a leather base that’s perfect for plopping on your beach blanket. I love how easy it’s to see and access all my necessities.

For all of your beach bag essentials, shop online or stop by DIANI, DIANI Shoes and DIANI Living. We’re here to help with any and all of your summer travel needs.
