The November Edit With Caroline
November marks the kickoff to holiday season and the hunt to find the perfect gifts for the ones you love. I’ve spent the last few months gathering all of my favorites plus some new and exciting finds. For this month’s edition of The Edit, I’ve put together a curation of one-of-a-kind gifts, stress-relieving essentials, and favorites for the planet-conscious. There are gifts for everyone on your list, including some treats for yourself. And what better time than now to snag what you love before it’s gone…
As we approach the busiest time of year, gifting something calming for the mind, body and soul is a must. These beautiful new Blessing Of Rice Candles are crafted from 100% rice bran wax and intentionally have a 30 minutes burn time so you can enjoy your mindful daily practice, whether it be meditation or relaxing with a cup of tea or a book.
A beautiful gift inside and out, the Bath & Meditate Bundle includes a vegan soap made of essential oils bundled with a variety of incense sticks and bricks, all hand wrapped with traditional Nepalese Lokta paper.
Nothing relieves stress quite like a hot bath. To help your loved ones relax, gift this Restorative Floral Bath soak. Infused with seawater, CBD, shea butter and green tea oil, it works to moisturize your skin, detoxify your body, and ease your mind and muscles.
Burning sage is my go-to when I’m looking to relieve stress, cleanse my space and fill it with a calming aroma. This Wild White Sage smudge stick was traditionally used by Native Americans in various ceremonies. I like to light mine and set it in this ceramic Smudge Bowl – together they make a great gift set.
I also love this Breu Resin Incense Parcel, which includes nine white sage incense sticks that are all beautifully hand wrapped in Traditional Nepalese Lokta paper.
Fill her space with beauty and serenity with this Himalayan Quartz Crystal. The natural presence of mineral iron and hematite give this crystal its pink hue. A great crystal for meditation, as it has calming and grounding qualities.
Whether you’re lighting a candle at the table or by your yoga mat, this Tohaku Sumac Wax Candle is a lovely new addition to DIANI. It is a traditional Japanese candle made from natural waxes and the design pays homage to pine trees drawn by a famous Japanese painter.
A great stocking stuffer or add-on gift, the Calming Temple Balm is a favorite of mine and many of my customers. With a blend of soothing plant extracts and CBD, this balm can be massaged into the skin or pulse points to ease anxiety and stress.
When you need that one-of-a-kind gift for that extra special someone (or yourself), we've got you covered. For the interior design enthusiast, my custom designed vintage pillows are a lovely gift to spruce up a space. With many to choose from, you'll find one that speaks to the person on your list. I'm currently coveting this floral print or this blue striped grain sack with my signature pom pom trim.
Add style and storage to a space with this unique Wave Floor Lidded Basket. Handwoven in Rwanda using sweetgrass and marsh grass, this sustainably-crafted basket is a favorite gift for someone looking to get organized in style.
A beautiful, one-of-a-kind vase is one of my favorite holiday gifts to give. And I love to support local artists like Santa Barbara-based Yokwe Ceramics, who handcrafted this new Turquoise Bud Vase and this textured Volcanic Bud Vase.
A sustainably-crafted fleece rug is an heirloom piece that will be cherished for years to come. The Alfie Living Rug is made from felted fleece and is 100% cruelty free. This rug takes over a year to make and follows the natural process of growing and shearing the wool, and cleaning and felting the base of the rug. A true labor of love…
A work of art, the Nkorwe Bowl is hand dyed and woven by artisans in Rwanda. It’s made using sweetgrass and comes with a string attached to the back to hang from the wall. You can combine this one with other baskets to make a wall collage or use as a single table display.
For the drink enthusiast, this handcrafted Bottle Stopper is a unique gift and fun stocking stuffer. Created by Santa Barbara artist, Peter Horjus, who turns treasures from all over the world into artful bottle stoppers. Each one truly is one-of-a-kind.
Add a new special piece to their servingware collection with this hand painted and handmade ceramic Small Dandelion Plate. Handcrafted in Austin Texas, Spako Clay creates small batch, high fire stoneware pieces that are hand drawn with underglaze. A work of art and a functional kitchen favorite.
Settle into the seasonal spirit and shop sustainably with some of my favorite planet-conscious gifts. For the “grow your own” enthusiast, The New Homesteader is an inspirational read whether you’re looking to tend your own plot or care for livestock.
A great gift for the novice gardener, this Bamboo Composter will help put their waste to good use. A chic addition to any kitchen (available in black too), this composter helps convert organic waste into enriched soiled to use in your very own back garden.
Stocking the stores with planet-conscious wardrobe staples has become a passion of mine. Some of my current favorites are these Recycled Rubber Boots from Ganni. They're made from 50% recycled rubber scraps and cutoffs for a style I can get behind.
Operating from a zero waste ideal, E.L.V. Denim takes discarded, unwanted denim and reuses and reworks it into modern, sophisticated styles, like the Twin Straight Leg Jean. For the leather lover, the Geneva Pant is cruelty free and ethically made from vegan leather, without compromising style and fit. Snag a pair for yourself as well as gifting to your like minded friend or lover.
Where sustainability and style meet, the Campo Sneaker from Veja is made using a rubberized sole and chrome free leather, plus 100% organic cotton laces and a tech inner lining made of 100% recycled bottles. A classic design that you’ll wear year-round.
These organic Bento Bags are a great storage alternative to plastic bags. Use them for grocery shopping, packing a lunch, traveling - I use mine for packing food to go to work or board a plane. Pair with these reusable Beeswax Wraps in a pretty batik print. Instead of plastic wrap, use the heat of your hands to mold wrap around left over fruit, vegetables, bowls or plates.
When Jeffrey and I are looking for plant-based meal inspiration, one of my go-to cookbooks is Whole Food Cooking Every Day. It provides key recipes and reliable techniques to incorporate nutrient-rich whole foods into your diet – from gluten free muffins and nut milks, to healing soups and cauliflower bakes.
After many of us spent the holidays apart last year, this season of gift giving is more appreciated than ever. And I hope my collection of favorites inspires you to surprise your loved ones with something special. Need some gifting guidance? Email care@dianiboutique.com with any questions. And, stay tuned, i have more gift guides up my sleeve.
