Caroline's Holiday Gift Guide Edit
One of my favorite parts of the holiday season is gift giving and this year it feels more meaningful than ever. While celebrations may look a bit different, sending a little joy to the ones you love will be well received. So for December's edition of The Edit (and in the spirit of early gifting), I've curated a one-stop Holiday Gift Shop filled with something special for everyone on your list. These are some of my top picks for the wellness minded, the eco conscious and the home chefs, plus all the best finds for the garden lover and the at-home lounger. And I have the fellas covered too... so here's to making this season one to remember!
For the ones on your list who love to lounge (who doesn’t?), we have just the gifts for her hygge lifestyle. The new oversized sweater and lounge pant from Belgian brand Mr Mittens (available in store now and online this week) is the ultimate in luxe knitwear. Made by hand, this duo is high quality, sustainable and so incredibly soft. Complete her at-home look with these fuzzy slippers that she can wear around the house, or anywhere really. And a cashmere blend scarf is just what she needs to keep her warm and stylish. Give her home the gift of cozy with this striped linen pillow and jacquard woven cotton blanket that she can layer on her couch or at the foot of her bed. I've been loving Down To Earth, an inspiration design read for a laid-back aesthetic so added it to our library of books. Nothing sets the mood like this Winter scented candle, which burns a clean and festive blend of cranberry, clove and mandarin, plus a plate of homemade cookies gifted on this gold rimmed cookie plate.
If you’ve been following along, you know I’m always on the hunt for new wellness goodies. These are some of my personal favorites that make great self care gifts. For my fellow bath lover, this bundle is fabulous, it features artisanal incense and small batch soap that smells heavenly. A great bath essential to add post-workout or before bed, this magnesium soak is a must for easing soreness, aiding in relaxation and promoting restful sleep. Follow it up with this body balm infused with CBD to ease tension, aches and pains. I’ve been wearing much more activewear this year, and this bra and high rise legging combo is what I currently have on rotation. The new Amy Chaplin cookbook is a great guide for healthy meal prep and recipe inspiration, with an emphasis on plant-based, whole foods. And Moon Juice’s SuperYou helps keep stress and anxiety in check. A beautiful addition to any home, quartz crystal is known for balancing out the body and the mind.
Whether you’re shopping for the plant novice or garden expert, we have a variety of gifts for the green thumb. Get the beginner started with these organic Garden Jars. This self-watering herb kit uses a wicking system that makes it almost impossible to over or under water. Add on the Push Garden, filled with a blend of perennial wild flower seeds that bees love! For the plant enthusiast, our signature DIANI Apron features pockets for all her tools, plus it will keep her clean and chic too. And this pair of floral gardening gloves are a must with extra long cuffs and reinforced leather palms to prevent scratches and insect bites. For the more committed gardener, The New Homesteader is one of my favorite reads. It’s been a great guide as Jeffrey and I create a kitchen garden at our farmhouse. And I don’t get into the garden without this bestselling straw hat to keep the sun off my face.
Gift giving can accumulate a lot of waste, but it doesn’t have to. Earlier this year I created the DIANI Sustainability Shop and since then I’ve added dozens more clean and environmentally-friendly brands and products. Some newer favorites are this Herno recycled nylon jacket, made with an eco-friendly dying technique, and the ever popular Jesse Kamm pant, crafted sustainably in California using organic cotton. This small batch and natural tie dyed hoodie from Raquel Allegra and 100% vegan sneaker from Veja are also favorites. I recently discovered some amazing sustainability-made home items, like these felted wool rugs, made with the sheep in mind. Each rug takes over a year to make and is 100% cruelty free... meaning the very sheep that grow the fleece are still happily roaming in the field (and have the cutest names). The 100% kapok cotton, hand-dyed bedroll also makes a great gift and can be used as a cushion indoors or as an outside lounger. For eco-friendly gifts on the go, this double wall tumbler is a great swap for paper cups, these organic bamboo straws easily replace plastic ones and the beeswax wraps are my favorite alternative to plastic wrap.
If this year has taught us anything, it’s that we're better in the kitchen than we think. For all the budding home chefs, these new cookbooks are a must. Old World Italian is the newest from Mimi Thorisson and my go-to for all things Italian, Whole Food Cooking Everyday is my meal prep inspiration, and Six Seasons has taught me a million ways to use vegetables. A good quality kitchen tool is always a great gift, and I would highly recommend these teak measuring spoons and measuring cups. Our signature DIANI apron is also an essential for keeping clean and organized, along with these reusable produce bags. For the foodie, the sea salts instantly enhance any dish (and look pretty on the counter) and the DIANI Cookie Box filled with homemade cookies is a crowd pleaser.
When I’m gift shopping for Jeffrey, I tend to look for two things: something that will spark joy and make him laugh. It could be a great book, a cocktail accessory or a desk memento. While much of DIANI is geared towards women, I also like to have a curated collection of gifts that the guys will like too. This year I’ve got my eye on a couple of new books, like this popular Peter Beard hard cover that features photography taken during his time in Kenya. And for a good laugh this collection of Bill Murray-inspired artwork is a must. For the cocktail lover, bar accessories are always a hit, like this locally handcrafted bottle stopper and festive skull shot glasses. Add in these vintage playing cards and his favorite liquor for a winning gift bundle. Gifting a unique desk mementos can be inspiring and fun, like this hand graphite pencil and a chiseled bone and horn frame. Keep his self care game strong with these unisex, all natural body care products, like this charcoal rope soap and my personal favorite toothpaste – both free of artificial ingredients and fragrances.
Many of you might be gift shopping more online this year and, as always, DIANI is here to help make your to-do list a little lighter. As always, customized gift wrapping is available as well as free shipping on orders over $150. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email us at care@dianiboutique.com.
