Caroline's Favorite Ways To Celebrate Love

Who doesn’t love a day that highlights our fondness for feeling the love, whether we’re giving it or receiving it. Deemed a Hallmark holiday by some, Valentine’s Day is actually believed to have been celebrated since the Roman Era, as a Christian feast day honoring Saint Valentine. Regardless of its origin, it’s a great day to show those you love what they mean to you and take a moment to connect. Experiences are as special as gifts, whether cooking together, enjoying a sunset cocktail or a walk in a park, and for the gift part, we have it all…from heart-shaped succulents and blissful bath oils, to playful pajamas and sparkly jewelry. Here is a rundown of some of my favorite gifts to give and receive on Valentine’s Day.

Bring a living green element to her home with easy-to-care-for plants, like the sweet Heart Pot Succulent Arrangement. Filled with a beautiful assortment of succulents housed in a heart-shaped ceramic vessel. A spritz or two of water (I use this brass mister) is all you need to care for this loving plant and it will last for months.

Treat yourself to a luxurious bath using the Olverum Bath Oil. My personal favorite and a go-to for when I'm needing to relax and destress, this bath oil is made from a blend of natural therapeutic plant extracts and is available in two sizes (125ml and 250ml), plus a Bath Oil Travel Set. Not only does it smell divine, but it's effective too, and it doesn't leave an oily residue. Warm up post-bath in this super soft cotton Pera Bath Robe.

Instead of a vase of flowers, opt for a beautifully handcrafted Baby's Breathe Wreath to hang around your home. A symbol of everlasting love, the delicate baby's breathe flower will instantly brighten any space. This wreath is made by our in-house botanist and looks lovely hung on a door or given as a gift to a loved one. To care for it, spritz a few sprays of water (I use this brass mister) directly on the wreath a few days a week to keep it fresh. It can also be dried out too.

Scent is a powerful tool to lift the senses to bring on the feelings, and lighting a candle just feels innately romantic. I love the sweet scent of peonies, green stems and ambergris in the Petals Candle, which is hand poured in the U.S. using soy wax and double cotton wicks. Show the littlest ones in your life some love with the limited edition Valentine's Day Kiki Doll and Tembo Doll. These stuffed elephants are super soft and cozy, and 100% of proceeds go to organizations that help aid in fighting the abuse of elephants across the world. Learn more about this wonderful organization, The Elephant Project here.

The Tiny Paved Folded Heart Necklace is elegant and timeless, and can be worn as part of her everyday jewelry collection. Adina Reyter's special, everyday pieces of fine diamond jewelry are a favorite among many of our clients and stylists here at DIANI.

These Hansel from Basel Love Cashmere Crew Socks need no introduction...they fly off the shelves every time we reorder them. Made in Portugal from recycled cashmere, they're special for more reasons than one. Available in caramel or navy, they can be styled under boots, clogs or flats – the options are endless. I have both colors and love packing them on flights. Your feet will thank you later. :)
