Caroline Diani Shares How She Creates Comfort While Staying at Home

I can't thank my DIANI community enough for all the support you've shown me and the business during these crazy times. All your notes of encouragement have enabled me to keep feeling inspired to create. Last week I chatted about the art of staying in and staying sane during this new work from home life. While creating structure in my workday is key to staying productive, cultivating a comfortable and serene space brings me joy and inspiration. As we continue to spend more time indoors, I'm finding peace by elevating my at-home style with all the essentials like fragrant candles, fluffy pillows and the Jesse Kamm pants that make me feel put together.

I've gotten into the habit of lighting my favorite candles at the end of the day. It's become a ritual that keeps me calm and centered when everything else feels out of my control. The Selenite Candle Holders on my fireplace mantel add the perfect amount of warmth to my living room. Plus, selenite is known for clearing energy blockages. I think we can all get onboard with that! My husband and I love lighting the fire too and getting it roaring by the time we've made dinner so we can sit fireside and enjoy conversations about stuff that doesn't leave us stressed out before bed. Sleep is more important now than it's ever been for us and we're trying to do whatever it takes to make the night restful.

There's nothing more comforting than the feeling of home and for me, that's the scent of the DIANI Mazuri Candle. I created this candle last year to pay homage to my roots in Kenya, England and California. All three of my homes in one, it doesn't get much better than that.

I move around a lot during the day to keep my energy up. I'll begin working at the dining room table and when I start to loose focus, I'll move to the living room and work from the coffee table. To keep the space feeling fresh, I've been changing up my seating with some of my new custom pillows. This has always been one of my favorite ways to breathe new life into a space.
You'll always find a throw or two in every room of my house whether it's draped over the couch or folded at the end of the bed. They're essential when the temperature drops and you need that extra layer of warmth. Depending on the season, I like to keep a variety of fabrics at arm's reach, from lightweight linen to cozy alpaca or cashmere.

The coffee table is the centerpiece in our living room and it's usually always stacked with books, papers and laptops. Once I've signed off for the day, I like to tidy up the tabletop and grab an inspirational read. I'm always thumbing through design favorites like Travel Home, Foxfire Living or cookbooks.

As of late, my wardrobe has been paired down to well-loved basics and a few statement pieces. While it's easy to stay in pajamas all day when working from home, getting dressed in something comfortable, yet professional keeps me feeling put together and helps invoke a sense of normalcy.

The Jesse Kamm Sailor Pant has quickly turned into an everyday essential. The ultra flattering fit pairs well with pretty much anything, from tees and sneakers to sweaters and sandals. I've been wearing the tobacco color on repeat with the Inhabit cotton chunky sweater.
If I'm committing to head-to-toe dressing, the Gitana Sandal Flat is my new go-to for spring. Crafted in Italy, this suede strappy sandal is meant for sunny days ahead, even if all I do is take a walk outside with Nala.

During this time of constant change, I find comfort in my daily rituals and at-home essentials to keep me feeling inspired and connected. Let me help you find joy in your everyday.
