Caroline Creates An Easter Inspired Tabletop

Spring is a time for celebrations and with Easter just around the corner (Sunday, April 17th incase you’re wondering), I’m feeling inspired to take our gatherings outdoors and set the table with a mix of my favorite bright handmade ceramic plates and glassware, plus a few new custom napkins, vases with fresh blossoms and bunny decor. So for this week’s post, I’m showing you my ideas for celebrating the season with the ones you love.

To create a focal point on the table, I like to start with the centerpiece first and work my way outwards. I used the large Isolated Vase, a beautiful hand built stoneware piece made in Spain with textural grog, and I filled it with fresh dogwood foliage.

To incorporate a mix of height and texture to my centerpiece, I also used a smaller vase, the Calpide and the Oinochoe for pouring water, a handmade brass pepper mill, and a group of festive doe rabbit statues (see here and here). These whimsical ceramic bunnies will charm any tabletop and can even be a fun gift for guests to take home.

For the place settings, I started with my favorite Maya Placemat in Mastice. I love the elegant, yet casual feel that linen brings to a table, and these are soft yet thick and durable enough for indoor and outdoor use. Next, I layered in our bestselling Chamberlin Platter in satin greige. Designed as a serving platter, I’m using it as a charger here to show off the beautiful textural lace detailing. Lastly, I topped off each place setting with a ceramic Pasta Bowl and Lace Salad Plate. These are my everyday pieces, but I love how easily they can be elevated for a special gathering.

I used a mix of water and champagne glasses from the Sienna Etched Glassware collection. I love the subtle botanical designs which include fern leaves, berries and pine leaves. They're also super versatile – use them together or mix and match with your glassware at home. To add a bit of color, I used my new DIANI Organic Natural Dye Cotton Napkins, which are block printed by hand in India. The pop of yellow and paisley print gives the table a fresh, spring feel and pairs well with the Cane Napkin Rings and dogwood foliage.

The Easter holiday always invites whites, greens and yellows and what better backdrop than outside where there is so much to be enjoyed with the spring season. It allows for a "less is more" approach to a table setting. So here’s to spring, warmer weather, longer days, and more time enjoying the simple pleasures with friends and family!
